WHAT THEY WANT
(Summarized from the RFP)
The Los Angeles Public Library is seeking a qualified firm to serve as its Special Events Coordinator, planning, directing, coordinating, producing, and managing special events at the Central Library and, occasionally, its 72 branch libraries and off-site Library-led events. The primary role is to act as the lead point of contact for outside parties who rent Library venues — Meeting Rooms A and B, the Rotunda, the Taper Auditorium, the Special Collections Reading Room, the Atrium, and the Thornton and Children's Courtyards — for weddings, galas, and other full-service catered events. Roughly thirty private rental events occur each fiscal year, ranging from ten guests to 250 guests across multiple spaces, and the coordinator must be on-site for the entire event, including load-in and strike.
