Urban Design Services for Citywide Monument and Wayfinding Signage Program
Visit Burbank, the destination marketing organization representing the City of Burbank, is seeking qualified urban design or environmental design firms to develop a comprehensive citywide monument and wayfinding signage program. The project aims to create a cohesive visual system of monument gateway signage and directional wayfinding signage that enhances Burbank’s identity as a major creative and entertainment destination. The selected consultant will conduct research and discovery, audit existing signage, identify key visitor routes and destinations, and develop multiple conceptual design directions reflecting the city’s creative brand. Services include concept development, stakeholder presentations, design refinement, and preparation of technical documentation and implementation strategies. The final program will provide detailed signage designs, material and fabrication recommendations, cost estimates, and phased installation plans for city entry monuments, district identifiers, and pedestrian and vehicular wayfinding signage. The effort is intended to improve navigation for residents and visitors, highlight key attractions and districts, and create a memorable sense of arrival at major entry points while reinforcing Burbank’s reputation as the Media Capital of the World.
