Urban Forest Management Plan
The City of Stockton is seeking professional consulting services to develop a comprehensive Urban Forest Management Plan. The plan will address tree health concerns, identify risks, and establish strategies to protect, maintain, and enhance the city’s urban forest. The selected consultant will lead public outreach efforts, engage stakeholders, and gather community input to ensure the plan reflects local priorities. The work includes developing a recommended tree list, establishing canopy cover targets, creating planting and maintenance guidance, and preparing a comprehensive implementation strategy with timelines and budgets. The consultant will also provide technical leadership on urban forestry best practices and complete any required environmental documentation in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act. Final deliverables include a comprehensive plan document, outreach summary, and presentations to city boards or the City Council as needed.
