Victim Witness Assistance Program Services
The County of Orange District Attorney is seeking proposals from qualified organizations to provide Victim Witness Assistance Program Services for victims and witnesses of crime throughout Orange County. The selected contractor will administer a comprehensive program that delivers support services mandated under California Penal Code provisions governing victim and witness assistance. Services include victim and witness advocacy, coordination of restitution services related to misdemeanor cases, assistance for victims seeking protective orders in domestic violence cases, and support for witnesses during child dependency hearings. The program also includes advocacy for victims of gang violence and human trafficking, coordination of the Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership program, and assistance with processing claims for unreimbursed financial losses resulting from crime. Additional responsibilities include coordinating witness services under the direction of the District Attorney’s Office and identifying victims of crime who may require assistance in accordance with the objectives of the Victim Services Steering Committee.
