WHAT THEY WANT
(Summarized from the RFP)
The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, through its Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Program and in collaboration with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is seeking a consultant team to prepare final designs for floodplain reconnection and in-stream habitat enhancement on the Walla Walla River at the McNary National Wildlife Refuge Wallula Unit, about 15 miles southeast of Pasco, Washington. The reach has been straightened and entrenched by historic land use and is largely cut off from its floodplain. The designs continue conceptual work completed in October 2024 to improve habitat for listed and other native fish, waterfowl and wildlife while restoring natural river, wetland and floodplain processes.
