WHAT THEY WANT

The Washington State Department of Commerce, through its Community Capacity Initiative, is issuing a Request for Applications for grant funding that builds organizational capacity to advance early-stage capital projects benefiting overburdened communities in Washington. Approximately $2.3 million is available: up to $1.9 million in state capital funds for local governments and federally recognized tribal governments, and $400,000 in state operating funds for federally designated nonprofit organizations. Commerce expects a highly competitive process and a limited number of awards.
