The City of Santa Maria is requesting proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide professional engineering services for the preparation of a Citywide Drainage Study and Flood Mitigation Master Plan. The purpose is to develop a comprehensive understanding of the regional watershed systems influencing the City and to evaluate the performance of its existing stormwater drainage infrastructure within the context of the larger Santa Maria Valley watershed. The study will identify hydrologic and hydraulic deficiencies, evaluate flood-prone areas, assess existing stormwater infrastructure, and develop practical, cost-effective flood mitigation strategies that improve community resilience while supporting future capital improvement projects and grant funding opportunities.
