WHAT THEY WANT
The City of Redmond, Washington is seeking a consulting engineering firm or team to provide preliminary and final design services for its Traffic Calming and Pedestrian Safety Measures project, funded through the USDOT Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program. The project demonstrates quick-build traffic calming and pedestrian crossings in the NE 85th Street, 161st Avenue NE, NE 79th Street and 188th Avenue NE corridors within the Downtown and Southeast Redmond urban centers: narrowed vehicle lane widths, two mid-block pedestrian crossings with rectangular rapid-flashing beacons (RRFBs), and three temporary or modular mini roundabouts. Because these are SS4A demonstration activities meant to inform the City's Safer Streets Action Plan, the improvements must be temporary or reversible if the intended safety outcomes are not met.

Submittals are emailed as a PDF to Micah Ross at mross@redmond.gov with "Traffic Calming and Pedestrian Safety Measures in Redmond Washington RFQ" and the company name in the subject line; attachments are limited to 20 MB and the City emails a receipt confirmation. No faxed copies are accepted. Submittals are limited to 12 letter-size pages (11x17 counts as two) at minimum 11 pt Arial with 0.5-inch margins, excluding cover, table of contents, letter of interest, resumes and the DBE/SBE Participation Plan, which must be included.
