WHAT THEY WANT
The City of Compton Fire Department is accepting proposals from qualified, experienced hazard mitigation consultants to update the City's Local Hazard Mitigation Plan as a single-jurisdiction, FEMA-approved plan. Pursuant to the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, local government agencies must adopt a Hazard Mitigation Plan and update it every five years to remain eligible for a range of pre- and post-disaster grants and community assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The City adopted a Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan in 2004 and last updated it on February 17, 2023, so this procurement is the five-year refresh that keeps that eligibility intact.

HOW TO SUBMIT
Submit one original and three copies via mail to City of Compton, Office of the City Clerk, 205 S Willowbrook Avenue, Compton, CA 90220. The outside of the envelope must be clearly marked 'PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN CONSULTING SERVICES - CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT - DO NOT OPEN WITH REGULAR MAIL'. The RFP may be obtained at the City Clerk's office or downloaded from http://www.comptoncity.org/departments/city-clerk/rfps-and-bids, where answers to written questions are also posted. Questions should be addressed to Fire Chief Ronerick Simpson and emailed to contactfire@comptoncity.org. Proposals must include a Statement of Qualifications, an organizational chart and team member qualifications, at least three client references per key team member from similar work in the previous three years, a work plan, schedule and fee schedule, plus executed original copies of the Certification of Nondiscrimination (Exhibit A) and the Non-Collusion Affidavit (Exhibit B). Proposals may be modified or withdrawn prior to the submission deadline by formal written notice from an authorized representative.
