The City of San Mateo, California is seeking a professional consulting firm or team to prepare a Recreation Facilities Feasibility Study and Modernization Plan for its recreation system. The study will evaluate seven existing facilities: the Beresford Recreation Center Complex, Senior Center, Lakeshore Recreation Center, Shoreview Recreation Center, Central Recreation Center Complex, Martin Luther King Recreation Center Complex, and Joinville Swim Center and Park Complex. Building on the City's recently completed Facility Condition Assessments, the work focuses on how each facility functions, how well it supports current and future programming, and where modernization or consolidation could improve service distribution, operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.

Submit one complete proposal package electronically in PDF format by email to BOTH Steve Wu, Facilities & Fleet Services Manager (swu@cityofsanmateo.org) and Paul Anderson, Program Manager (pjanderson@kitchell.com). Include a cover letter, project understanding and approach, relevant projects, project team with organizational chart (no more than one page of resume per key member), at least three references, work plan and schedule, a fee proposal itemized by task using Attachment D, an additional services rate schedule, and confirmation of ability to meet the City's insurance and contract requirements. Late or incomplete submittals will not be considered. Direct questions to the same two contacts.
