WHAT THEY WANT
(Summarized from the RFP)
The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, Public Health Services, is requesting quotes from firms to design, implement and conduct a Retrospective Epidemiological Study as part of its Tijuana River Valley Chemical Pollution Impact Investigation. The study will assess whether there is evidence of health effects from past exposure to emissions from the valley, where untreated sewage and industrial waste produce airborne pollutants, including hydrogen sulfide, that have raised concern in Imperial Beach, Nestor and San Ysidro. The County has treated the sewage issue as a local emergency since 2023.
