WHAT THEY WANT
The City of Torrance Public Works Department is seeking a qualified engineering consultant to prepare a new Sewer System Master Plan for its wastewater collection system, replacing a 1992 Sanitary Sewer System Study that exists only as a scanned hard copy and no longer reflects completed projects or the large commercial and residential developments built since. The system serves roughly 146,860 residents across 21 square miles and consists of about 273 miles of gravity sewer from 4 to 27 inches in diameter, approximately 6,193 manholes, and nine lift stations, with flows conveyed to the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts' A.K. Warren Water Resource Facility. The City wants a GIS-based hydraulic model it can use to evaluate the impact of proposed developments and to identify potential sanitary sewer overflow locations.
